Happy Holidays!! As we reflect on the closing of 2024 and look forward to 2025, we are so grateful to each of you for three incredible years of PS+R. What started as an idea to serve our community with better health and performance solutions continues to evolve and grow in ways we could never have imagined. We are so thankful to each and every one of you who make PS+R so rad. Nothing makes us happier than seeing our clients performing at their potential and living their movement passions pain free.
This month we are counting down the Top 10 Things We Are Grateful For as we reflect on the past year at PS+R:
- Partnering with the amazing crew at Ktlyst Fitness! It’s been an honor to work with the incredible crew at Ktlyst and provide performance profiling for their athletes. Ktylst provides personal and small group training and is also dedicated to expert coaching for elite and youth athletes.
- Welcoming Max Gottwald to PS+R! This month, we are welcoming Max to the team as a strength and conditioning coach. Max is a recent graduate of Flagler College and the captain of the Flagler Men’s Soccer team. Max played professional soccer in the Bundesliga prior to playing two seasons at the University of South Florida and finishing his NCAA eligibility at Flagler College. Max was a two year captain of the Flagler Men’s Soccer Team and lead Flagler to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 11 years. This past season, Max earned First-Team All Region, First-Team All Conference, and was the Defensive Player of the Year in the Peach Belt Conference.
Additionally, Max was selected as an All-American to end is college career! Apart from his exceptional athletic background in soccer, Max is a fantastic leader and coach we are honored to have him join PS+R as a Performance Coach for soccer athletes. - Welcoming Sarah Cason to team PS+R! Sarah is an Athletic Trainer with a wealth of experience working with field athletes including soccer and lacrosse. She is passionate about keeping athletes healthy and has been an integral partner in successfully executing rehabilitation programs with Flagler athletes. Sarah will be providing performance profiling services at Ktlyst, the PS+R main clinic, and onsite at sporting events. We are thrilled to have Sarah’s passion and expertise at team PS+R!
- Expanding our technology partnerships. We continued to test and build upon the performance technologies we use and trust at PS+R. This year, that included upgrades of all of our VALD force plates which allow us to measure movement capabilities of our athletes from strength and balance to movement quality in all or our basic movement patterns. We also added Output Sports for velocity based training (think, improving power for athletes!) and for testing reactive strength capabilities. Finally Oro muscles has been a great addition for us to use real time EMG data which helps us to improve training specificity when there is a neurological or activity induced loss of muscle activation. The feedback Oro gives us has been critical in exercise selection and progression for athletes with ACL reconstruction and hip labral tears this year. We look forward to continuing to integrate these technologies into our performance profiling and rehabilitation processes.
- The addition of our turf in the clinic! The clinic will look a bit different as we organize our beloved clinic space to maximize our movement coaching interventions. This will include the addition of a mini turf section and a squat rack. Get ready to upgrade your movement prep in 2025 with our in clinic space upgrades.
- A new website for PSR! Steve and Libby have been hard at work with a new website which will house and showcase all the aspect of PS+R that you may not even know existed. This includes remote training and consulting services for athletic teams. You’ll get to hear amazing stories from our clients who have used each of these services and get to know more about all the facets of PS+R that fit together to make the PS+R health and performance ecosystem. Look for the new site to launch in January of 2025!
- A coming partnership with 1080 sprint! Want to know how the most elite sprinters in the world test and progress their speed? Look no further than the 1080 sprint which we are excited to add to our lineup of performance tools in 2025. This technology allows us to add resistance to progress top end speed and change of direction drills allowing for improvements in movement quality and elite training for field based athletes and any athlete looking to progress their top end speed.
- Building to the 2026 World Cup! We are thrilled that Steve will be continue to serve as a Performance Coach for the United States Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT) under the leadership of the new head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Dreams do come true and we are so excited to support Steve through these next two big years.
- Publications! Steve and Libby both authored research that was published in 2024. Check out the link below and the attached article to read up on their contributions to clinical science and performance related research in their fields. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11486539/.
